Chocolate magic custard cake is a dessert made from a thin batter that separates into three layers as it bakes. Egg yolks beaten with sugar are mixed with melted butter, milk, black coffee, and vanilla, then with flour and cocoa powder, before beaten egg whites are gently folded in. The cake bakes for 50 to 60 minutes at 165 °C (330 °F) in a 20 × 20 cm pan. The center is still liquid right after baking, but the creamy layer gradually sets.

Instructions
Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.
Preheat the oven to 165 °C (330 °F) and prepare a 20 × 20 cm baking pan. Mix the flour with the cocoa powder and beat the egg whites until stiff.
Beat the egg yolks with the sugar until light and fluffy, then add the melted, cooled butter, milk, coffee, and vanilla. Mix thoroughly, gradually add the flour and cocoa mixture, and finally gently fold in the beaten egg whites.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 50–60 minutes. The center of the cake will still be liquid, but the creamy middle layer will gradually set.
Dust the cake with powdered sugar, let cool, and serve.
Tip: Wait until the cake has chilled in the refrigerator for several hours before slicing; the creamy middle layer will not be firm until then. Wipe the knife after each cut to keep the layers from smearing.
