About us

Family Home Recipes is the English edition of Domáce recepty (“home recipes” in Slovak), a Slovak recipe website online since 2015, with more than 1,900 recipes with ingredients and step-by-step instructions: soups, main dishes, cakes, salads and traditional Slovak food.

The recipes

This website offers 1,897 recipes translated from the Slovak originals. The amounts are in metric units (grams, millilitres; 1 cup = 250 ml), oven temperatures in °C with °F, and Slovak ingredients that are hard to find abroad, such as bryndza sheep cheese or semi-coarse flour, are explained. Each recipe links to its Slovak original. Nutrition facts are approximate values calculated from the ingredients. New recipes are added as they appear on the Slovak website.
