Recipe of the day notifications

Every day at 5 pm (Central European Time) your browser will show you one recipe for dinner: a new recipe or one of the most popular. At most one notification a day.

How it works

  • You turn notifications on with the button above. Your browser will ask whether you allow them.
  • The recipe of the day always arrives around 5 pm. If your phone or computer isn’t connected to the internet by 9 pm, the notification expires and won’t arrive.
  • Clicking the notification opens the recipe on our website.

How to turn notifications off

With the “Turn off notifications” button on this page. Or in your browser settings: in Chrome and Edge via the icon next to the address → Site settings → Notifications; on Android also by long-pressing the notification.

iPhone and iPad

Apple allows notifications from websites only when you add the site to your home screen (iOS and iPadOS 16.4 or later): in Safari tap Share → Add to Home Screen, then open Recipes from your home screen and tap Turn on notifications. The icon on your home screen works like an app with our recipes.

On iPhone you can use the Family Home Recipes app from the App Store instead: you turn on the recipe of the day right in the app, without adding anything to your home screen.

Facebook and Instagram

Notifications don’t work in the browser inside the Facebook or Instagram app. Open the page in a regular browser (Chrome, Safari) and turn them on there.
