Apple cake with nuts, cinnamon and yogurt is a layered cake made with moist, buttery batter, grated apples and a nut topping with cane sugar. Pour half the batter into the pan, add the apples and some of the nut, cinnamon and sugar mixture, then add the remaining batter and topping. Bake the cake for 30–40 minutes at 180 °C (350 °F) in a small baking pan or a round cake pan about 26 cm in diameter. Once cooled, simply dust it with powdered sugar.

Instructions
Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.
Beat the butter with the powdered sugar and vanilla sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then gradually add the remaining batter ingredients.
Grease a medium baking pan or a round cake pan about 26 cm in diameter and pour in half the batter. Spread the apples over it and sprinkle with half the nut mixture. Pour the remaining batter over the filling and sprinkle with the remaining nut mixture.
Bake in an oven preheated to 180 °C (350 °F) for about 30–40 minutes. Let the apple cake cool, then dust with powdered sugar.
Tip: Spoon the second half of the batter over several spots, then gently spread it together with a spatula; pouring it all in at once would push the apples toward the edges.
