These baked apple pita rolls are a quick, sweet dessert reminiscent of Moldovan strudel, made with thin pita bread, apples, butter, and cinnamon. Diced apples drizzled with lemon juice are briefly cooked in butter with sugar and cinnamon, then wrapped in buttered squares of pita bread and baked for about 15 minutes at 200°C (400°F), until golden. Use store-bought or homemade pita bread. Serve them for a sweet breakfast, a midmorning snack, or an afternoon treat.

Instructions
Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.
Core the apples, cut them into small dice, and drizzle with the juice of half a lemon to keep them from browning. Melt 1 tbsp of softened butter in a skillet, add the apples, sugar, and cinnamon, and cook briefly until warmed through. Omit the sugar if the apples are very sweet or you prefer a tarter flavor.
Cut the pita bread into squares of any size and spread with the remaining butter. Place some apple filling on each square and carefully roll it up. Arrange the rolls on a baking sheet greased with a little oil and bake at 200°C (400°F) for about 15 minutes, until golden.
Tip: You can also cook the rolls in a skillet. For this method, use about 50 g more butter to grease the skillet and coat the outside of the rolls.
Allow no more than 5 minutes for the preparation itself.
Tip: Leave the juices from the warmed apples in the pan and use only the apples to fill the rolls. The juices would make the thin pita bread soggy and cause it to tear.
