Make homemade herb butter with two tubs of heavy whipping cream, salt, and fresh herbs. Whip the cream in a stand mixer for about ten minutes until the butter separates from the buttermilk. Then strain the butter through a cloth and rinse it several times with cold water until the water runs clear. Finally, season with salt and mix in chopped herbs. The whole process takes about fifteen minutes, and you will have buttermilk left over, too.

Instructions
Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.
Pour the cream from the tubs into the bowl of a stand mixer and whip for approximately 10 minutes. As you whip, the butter will begin to separate from the buttermilk.
Once the butter is thick enough, transfer it to a cloth-lined strainer and let the buttermilk drain off.
Rinse the butter in a bowl under cold running water to wash out any remaining whey. Repeat approximately 3 times, until the water running from the butter is clear.
If desired, mix salt and chopped fresh herbs into the butter to taste.
Note
Make the butter using a stand mixer, a hand mixer, or an immersion blender. Tip: rinse the butter with cold water, as warm water may cause it to turn bitter.
Tip: When the buttermilk starts to separate, reduce the mixer speed or cover the bowl with a kitchen towel to prevent splashing. Roll the herb butter into a log in plastic wrap and chill it for neat slices.
