Instructions
Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.
Prepare the cabbage
5 minSeparate the cabbage into leaves, cut out the thick ribs, and slice the leaves into thin strips.
Cook until tender
10 minSauté the finely chopped onion in the butter until translucent. Add the cabbage, season with salt, cover, and cook for 8–10 minutes, until tender.
Add the cream
5 minPour in the cream, add the nutmeg and black pepper, and simmer uncovered for 3 minutes, until the cream thickens slightly.
Serve
Serve warm as a side dish with meat or with sunny-side-up eggs and potatoes.
Tip: Do not add water while cooking the cabbage; the moisture it releases is enough. Young summer cabbage cooks faster than winter cabbage.
