This nut sheet cake with quark cream and Fanta pudding gets its orange flavor from the familiar carbonated soda. The nut sponge bakes for 30 to 35 minutes at 170 °C (340 °F), then is spread with a cream made from quark (farmer's cheese), butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and lemon zest. It is topped with vanilla pudding cooked with Fanta instead of milk and a sprinkling of chopped nuts. It is straightforward to prepare and especially appealing to fans of the soda.

Instructions
Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.
For the cake, beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt and the sugar until stiff and glossy. Gradually fold in the egg yolks, nuts, and flour mixed with the baking powder. Spread the batter in a 25 × 35 cm baking pan lined with parchment paper and bake at 170 °C (340 °F) for 30–35 minutes.
For the cream, combine all the cream ingredients in a bowl, making sure they are at room temperature. Refrigerate the cream until set.
For the topping, cook the pudding according to the package directions, using Fanta instead of milk. Stir until it thickens like regular pudding. Spread the quark cream over the baked cake, then spread the Fanta pudding on top.
Refrigerate the cake for several hours until set, then sprinkle with chopped nuts before serving.
Tip: Let the Fanta go slightly flat in an open bottle before cooking the pudding so it foams less when heated. Spoon the lukewarm pudding over the set cream, starting in the center, to keep the layers from mixing.
