Cherry panna cotta is an Italian cream dessert set with gelatin, with fresh cherries tucked into each glass. Simply heat the cream, milk, and sugar without letting them boil, then stir in the gelatin and pour the mixture into glasses. Add the cherries directly to the glasses and let the dessert set in the refrigerator. Measure the ingredients precisely so the panna cotta holds its shape. This recipe makes five servings.

Instructions

Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.

  1. Pour 50 ml cold water over the gelatin and let stand for 10 minutes.

  2. Pour the cream and milk into a saucepan and heat without letting them boil. Add the sugar and stir constantly until dissolved.

  3. Stir half of the bloomed gelatin into the cream mixture. Let cool to room temperature, then pour into the prepared glasses.

Add a few cherries to each glass and refrigerate until set.

  4. Pour 100 ml water over the remaining cherries and bring to a boil. Add the remaining gelatin, stir thoroughly, and let cool.

Once the cream layer is firm enough, pour the prepared cherry jelly mixture over it.

  5. Return the glasses to the refrigerator and let the jelly set.

Tip: Pit the cherries ahead of time so you can enjoy the dessert without removing pits as you eat. If you don't have a cherry pitter, use a sturdy straw to push each pit out through the stem end.
