This no-bake cherry cake combines a layer of cherries cooked in juice with fine wheat semolina (farina), ladyfingers, vanilla pudding, and whipped cream. The cherry mixture thickens after a few minutes of cooking and is spread in a rimmed baking pan. The ladyfingers are covered with hot pudding, then topped with a generous layer of whipped cream once cool. The dessert needs to chill thoroughly in the refrigerator, so you can make it ahead for guests.

Instructions
Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.
Heat the cherry juice over low heat and bring to a boil. Add the farina and cherries and cook, stirring constantly, for another 3–5 minutes, until the mixture thickens.
Spread the mixture in a rimmed baking pan and arrange the ladyfingers on top. Prepare the pudding as usual with the milk, sugar, and pudding mix, then pour it over the ladyfingers while still hot. Let cool.
Whip the cream and spread it over the top in a thick layer.
Refrigerate the dessert until thoroughly chilled.
Tip: Spread the cherry mixture in the pan while it is still hot, as the farina sets quickly as it cools. Dip your spoon in cold water to keep the mixture from sticking to it.
