Cold quark cream with no-cook pudding is a layered dessert with cookies that needs neither a stove nor an oven. It is based on a grandmother's recipe in which a classic pudding was originally cooked; here it is replaced by instant vanilla pudding whisked with milk. The pudding is combined with sweetened quark and whipped cream and layered in a pan lined with plastic wrap, alternating with cookies sprinkled with milk. The work takes about 20 minutes, and then the dessert sets in the refrigerator.

Beat the quark with 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar and 1 packet of vanilla sugar. Whip the cream with the remaining 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar.
Whisk the 500 ml of milk, 1 packet of vanilla sugar and the two packets of instant pudding mix together until you have a smooth, thick pudding. Fold in the quark mixture and the whipped cream.
Line a pan with high sides, about 20 × 30 cm (8 × 12 in), with plastic wrap. Arrange cookies over the bottom and sprinkle them with a little milk. Spread half of the cream over them, then add cookies, the rest of the cream and cookies again, and refrigerate for at least 3 hours to set.
Tip: Instant pudding sets within a few minutes, so fold in the quark mixture and the whipped cream as soon as it thickens; if it stood for a while, the cream would turn lumpy.
