This no-bake chocolate log is a simple dessert made with ladyfingers and thick chocolate pudding, with no need to turn on the oven. The pudding is cooked with butter, sugar, and cocoa powder, then mixed with raisins and chopped walnuts and poured into a ridged log mold or loaf pan. Ladyfingers are pressed into the pudding, with more covering the top. Once set, the dessert is cut into slices with a rich cocoa flavor.

Instructions

Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.

  1. Pour the milk into a saucepan and add the cubed butter and sugar. Add the pudding mixes and cocoa powder to the warm milk and cook until the pudding is thick. If it is not thick enough, stir in a little more cocoa powder.

  2. Stir the raisins and walnuts into the cooked pudding.

  3. Line a ridged log mold or loaf pan with parchment paper, or lightly grease it with butter. Pour in the pudding mixture and gently press a few ladyfingers into it. Finish by covering the entire surface with ladyfingers.

  4. Refrigerate the pan for several hours, then carefully turn the log out onto a plate.

Tip: Soak the raisins in hot water for 15 minutes beforehand, then pat dry. This keeps them juicy in the pudding and prevents them from drawing moisture out of it.
