These homemade garlic potato rolls are made with a yeast dough of semi-coarse wheat flour, milk, and potatoes, flavored with caraway seeds. The dough is firm, and if you have a bread machine, it can handle the kneading and rising for you. Divide the dough into 16 pieces and shape them into round buns or knots, then let them rise on the baking sheet for at least half an hour before baking at 200 °C (400 °F). The warm rolls fill the kitchen with their aroma.

Instructions
Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.
- Knead all the ingredients into a firm dough and let it rise. Tip: If you have a bread machine, use it to prepare the dough with minimal effort.
- Knead the risen dough again and divide it into 16 pieces. Shape them into simple buns or roll them into thin ropes and tie them into knots.
- Transfer the rolls to a baking sheet, cover with a kitchen towel, and let rise for at least another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 200 °C (400 °F). Before baking, brush the rolls with garlic oil made by mixing oil with a little salt and a clove of garlic.
- Bake the rolls, then brush them with garlic oil again after taking them out of the oven.
Tip: Mix the garlic oil at the start of the rise to give the garlic more time to infuse the oil. Roll the ropes for the knots to an even thickness so they bake evenly.
