Potato pancakes with smoked meat and marjoram are a variation on a dish found throughout Slavic cuisines. Make a batter with grated potatoes, an egg, milk, a little all-purpose flour, dried garlic, and marjoram, then fry it in oil as small pancakes. While the underside cooks, place a slice of smoked meat on each pancake and cover it with another spoonful of batter, enclosing the meat inside.
They are ready in about 20 minutes and are served as a hearty main dish.

Instructions
Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.
- First, heat a skillet. Grate the potatoes and add the marjoram, salt, pepper, and egg.
- Pour in the milk and add 1 to 2 tbsp all-purpose flour, depending on the amount of potatoes, along with the garlic. Mix until well combined.
- Once the skillet is hot enough, pour in sunflower oil and fry small pancakes. As they cook, place a slice of smoked meat on each pancake. After a short while, cover the meat with another layer of potato batter.
- Flip the pancakes and fry on the other side.
Tip: Cut the smoked meat into thin slices smaller than the pancakes so the top layer of batter covers them completely and they stay in place when flipped.
