This homemade carrot and fruit juice, similar to the Slovak bottled drink Kubík, is a thick drink made from cooked apples and carrots blended with orange, grapefruit, banana, and lemon juice. It has no added sugar; the fruit provides the sweetness. After blending, dilute it with a liter of boiled water and pour it into glass bottles. Refrigerate and drink within two days, or freeze for longer storage.

Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.
- Peel and core the apples, then cut them into large pieces. Peel the carrots and cut them into pieces. Place the apples and carrots in a pot, add the lemon juice, and add enough water to cover. Bring to a boil.
- Boil the apples and carrots for about 20 minutes, until they are completely soft and falling apart. Meanwhile, peel the remaining citrus fruit and the banana, cut them into smaller pieces, and blend until smooth.
- Let the cooked apples and carrots cool, then combine them with the other fruit. Add 1 l of boiled water and blend everything thoroughly again.
- Pour the juice into glass bottles and seal tightly. Refrigerate within two hours and drink within 2 days, following the British Food Standards Agency's (FSA) recommendation for prepared foods. For longer storage, freeze the juice; the U.S. National Center for Home Food Preservation (NCHFP) does not have a tested canning procedure for fruit purées containing banana.
Tip: For freezing, fill containers no higher than the shoulders, as the juice expands when frozen. Always shake the bottle before pouring, as the thick pulp settles at the bottom.
