Caramelized salmon in a honey-soy marinade with broccoli is an easy sheet-pan dinner ready in 30 minutes. Toss broccoli and carrots with oil, salt, and pepper, spread them on a sheet pan, and place the salmon fillets on top. Brush the fillets with a marinade of cane sugar, soy sauce, honey, and sesame seeds, which caramelizes as it bakes.

Bake the salmon for 12 minutes at 200 °C (400 °F). Then toss the vegetables with the marinade juices and serve with the fish.

Instructions

Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 °C (400 °F). On a parchment-lined sheet pan, thoroughly toss the broccoli and carrots with the oil, salt, and pepper. Spread the vegetables evenly and place two salmon fillets on top.

  2. In a medium bowl, stir together the cane sugar, soy sauce, honey, and sesame seeds until all lumps have dissolved. Brush the marinade evenly over the fillets.

  3. Bake at 200 °C (400 °F) for 12 minutes.

Remove the pan from the oven, lift the salmon off the vegetables, and toss the vegetables with the marinade. Brush the fillets with the remaining marinade as needed.

Tip: Slice the carrots into thin rounds; they are firmer than broccoli and otherwise will not soften during the short baking time. Pat the fillets dry before brushing with the marinade so the glaze sticks better.
