Instructions

Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.

  1. Cook the rice

    20 min

Cook the rice according to the package directions.

  2. Make the sauce

    3 min

Mix the soy sauce with the honey, pressed garlic, ginger, and potato starch dissolved in the water.

  3. Sear the salmon

    8 min

Pat the salmon dry. Heat the oil in a skillet and sear the salmon skin-side down for 4 minutes, then flip and cook for another 2 minutes.

  4. Glaze the salmon

    2 min

Pour in the sauce and let it bubble for 1–2 minutes, constantly spooning it over the salmon, until it thickens and coats the fish. Serve with rice, topped with sesame seeds and scallions.

Tip: Add the sauce only at the end, when the salmon is almost cooked through—the honey in it burns quickly if cooked too long.
