Mulled white wine with cranberries, apple, and star anise is a hot drink to warm you up on cold days. Briefly simmer the cranberries and apple slices with cane sugar, cinnamon, cloves, and star anise in a little water. Then add half a liter of white wine, heat just below boiling, and let stand for five minutes.

Serve immediately in glasses garnished with spices or fresh cranberries.

Instructions

Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.

  1. Place the cranberries, the cleaned and sliced apple, sugar, and spices in a saucepan. Add a little water and simmer for a few minutes. Pour in the wine and heat, removing the saucepan from the heat just before it comes to a boil. Let stand for about 5 minutes.
  2. Pour the hot wine into glasses, garnish with spices or fresh cranberries as desired, and serve immediately.

Tip: Use a whole cinnamon stick instead of ground cinnamon, which will make the wine cloudy and settle at the bottom of the glasses. Cut the apple into thicker slices, as thin ones would fall apart during cooking.
