Tea punch with rum is a warm Christmas drink made with black tea flavored with maple syrup, lemon zest and star anise. Steep the tea for just three to four minutes, then heat it with sugar and spices and let it infuse for another ten minutes. Finally, add the syrup and rum and warm the punch once more. Instructions
Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.
Bring 1 l of water to a boil in a saucepan. Add the tea bag, let it steep for 3–4 minutes, then remove it. Heat the tea with the sugar, add the lemon zest and star anise, and let it infuse for another 10 minutes.
Flavor the punch with maple syrup (or elderflower syrup) and rum, warm it once more, and serve.
Tip: After adding the rum, warm the punch without bringing it to a boil, or the alcohol will evaporate. Set aside some punch for children and drivers before adding the rum.
