Bread rolls baked with egg, ham, and cheese make a quick, warm dinner. Slice the tops off round rolls and make room inside for the filling. Fill each roll with a slice of ham and one egg, sprinkle with grated cheese and herbs, and replace the top. Wrap the rolls in foil and bake for 10 to 15 minutes at 180°C (350°F), until the eggs are set. You probably have most of the ingredients at home, so dinner is ready in about a quarter of an hour.

Instructions

Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Carefully slice the tops off the rolls and set them aside.

  2. Use a small knife to make cuts inside the rolls. Place a piece of ham in each roll and crack an egg into it. Sprinkle with cheese and herbs.

  3. Replace the tops of the rolls, wrap in foil, and bake for 10–15 minutes.

Tip: Press the ham into each roll to form a little bowl, leaving the bottom of the roll intact so the egg does not leak out. Before serving, check that the egg white is set; if not, bake a little longer.
