Baked penne with ham, salami, and tomatoes is a simple dish for days when you don't have much time to spend at the stove. Sliced onion, ham, and salami are cooked in a skillet with canned tomatoes, oregano, salt, and pepper. The cooked pasta and sauce are layered twice in a baking dish and topped with shredded cheese. Bake at 200°C (400°F) until the cheese melts. The recipe serves four.

Instructions

Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.

  1. Cook the pasta in salted water according to the package directions, then drain. Slice the onion, ham, and salami and cook them in a skillet. Add the tomatoes, oregano, salt, and pepper.

  2. Place half the pasta in a baking dish and pour half the sauce over it. Add the remaining pasta and cover with the remaining sauce.

  3. Sprinkle with shredded cheese and bake at 200°C (400°F) until the cheese melts. Serve.

Tip: Let the tomatoes and salami simmer in the skillet until the sauce thickens slightly. A thin sauce would run to the bottom of the dish, leaving the top layer of penne to dry out in the oven.
