Carrot quark spread is a mild spread made with very finely grated carrots, quark (farmer's cheese), plain yogurt, Edam, and chives. The carrots give it a slightly sweet flavor and orange flecks. There is no garlic or onion, so it has no sharp bite.
It takes 10 minutes to mix, and 250 g of quark makes enough spread for about 12 slices of bread or 6 rolls for a snack. Unlike garlic spread with carrots and processed cheese, this version uses quark and yogurt.

Instructions
Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.
Grate the carrots
5 minGrate the carrots using the finest holes of a grater. If they release a lot of juice, squeeze them gently so the spread does not become runny.
Mix the quark
5 minMix the quark and yogurt with a fork until smooth. Finely grate the cheese and add it to the quark along with the chives, salt, and black pepper.
Combine the spread
15 minStir in the carrots, taste, and add more salt if needed. Refrigerate the spread for 15 minutes to let the flavors blend.
Serve
Spread on whole-grain bread, rolls, or dark bread. Store any leftovers in a sealed container in the refrigerator and use by the next day.
Tip: For a packed snack, put the spread in a separate container and spread it on the bread just before eating so the bread does not get soggy. For adults, you can add a clove of garlic passed through a garlic press.
