These stuffed pizza crescent rolls are made with a soft yeast dough enriched with milk and oil, which you can knead by hand or in a bread machine. Roll the dough into three circles, cut each into eight triangles, and fill them with either ketchup, grated cheese, and ham or processed cheese mixed with Niva (Czech blue cheese), garlic, and basil. Add an olive to each, roll them up, brush with egg, sprinkle with oregano, and bake for 20 minutes.

Instructions

Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.

  1. Make the dough

Combine the flour, lukewarm milk, oil, sugar, salt, and crumbled yeast, and knead into a smooth dough by hand or in a bread machine on the dough cycle. Let rise until doubled in size.

  2. Divide the dough

Divide the risen dough into three pieces, shape each into a ball, and let rest for another 10 minutes.

  3. Make the cheese filling

Mix the processed cheese with the crumbled Niva, crushed garlic, basil, and a pinch of hot paprika.

  4. Fill the rolls

On a floured surface, roll each dough ball into a circle about 30 cm in diameter and cut into eight triangles. Spread two of the circles with ketchup, sprinkle with cheese, and place half a slice of ham on the wide end of each triangle. Place a teaspoon of the cheese filling on each triangle from the third circle. Add an olive to each triangle.

  5. Shape the rolls

Stretch the corners of the wide end slightly and fold them inward to keep the filling from leaking, then roll toward the tip. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let rise for another 15 minutes.

  6. Bake

Brush the rolls with the egg beaten with the milk, sprinkle with oregano, and bake in an oven preheated to 180 °C (350 °F) for about 20 minutes, until golden brown.

Tip: Place the filling only on the wide end of each triangle, keeping it away from the edges so the rolls are easier to shape and the filling does not leak during baking.
