This cheese bouquet is a cold party appetizer with an eye-catching presentation: slices of processed cheese are rolled into cones resembling calla lilies. They are filled with a simple spread of hard-boiled eggs, grated cheese, garlic, and mayonnaise. A thin carrot stick is inserted into each flower, and the bouquet is arranged on a plate with green onion stems and parsley leaves.

Instructions

Eggs
Hard-boil the eggs for about 10 minutes, cool them in cold water, and peel.
Filling
Finely grate the eggs and cheese. Add the pressed garlic and mayonnaise, and mix into a smooth, thick spread.
Calla lilies
Let the cheese slices sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes until pliable. Roll each slice into a cone by folding one corner over the opposite corner, then press the seam gently to seal.
Fill the flowers
Spoon the filling into each cone. Peel the carrot and cut it into thin sticks. Insert one stick into each flower to form its center.
Arrange the bouquet
Arrange the flowers in a bouquet on a plate. Place the green onion stems underneath them and add parsley leaves. Refrigerate the bouquet until serving.
Tip: If the cheese slices crack when rolled, warm them in the microwave for a few seconds. Add the mayonnaise a tablespoon at a time; the filling should be thick.
