These pear and blue cheese crostini are baked baguette slices topped with sliced pear, crumbled Niva (Czech blue cheese), and walnuts. In 8 minutes in the oven, the cheese melts and the edges of the baguette turn crisp, ready for a drizzle of honey. Salty blue cheese, sweet pear, and honey pair well with white wine. Serve the crostini warm.

Slice the baguette
5 minPreheat the oven to 200 °C (400 °F). Cut the baguette diagonally into 24 slices about 1 cm thick. Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of each slice and arrange on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Add the toppings
10 minWash and core the pears, then cut them into thin slices. Place a pear slice on each baguette slice and sprinkle with the crumbled blue cheese and chopped walnuts.
Bake
8 minBake for 7–8 minutes, until the blue cheese melts and the edges of the baguette begin to turn golden.
Serve
Drizzle the warm crostini with honey and serve immediately.
Tip: Slice the pears just before assembling the crostini, as they brown quickly when exposed to air.
