Baked spaghetti with ground pork is an easy weekend oven dish with a lightly crisp top and a moist interior. Simmer ground pork with red onion, paprika, marjoram, salt, and pepper, then layer it with cooked spaghetti in a baking dish. Pour over a mixture of milk, eggs, and flour, sprinkle with grated cheese and breadcrumbs, and bake at 180°C (350°F). This easy recipe comes from Grandma and serves four.

Instructions

Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.

  1. Cook the spaghetti in salted water according to the package directions, then drain.
  2. Heat the oil in a skillet and sauté the finely chopped onion. When it starts to turn golden, stir in the ground pork, season with salt and black pepper, and add the paprika and marjoram. Cover and cook until the meat is cooked through.
  3. Meanwhile, prepare the milk-and-egg mixture: whisk the eggs thoroughly into the milk, add 2 tbsp flour, and whisk until no lumps remain. Season with a little salt and black pepper.
  4. Sprinkle breadcrumbs over the bottom of a baking dish and spread half the spaghetti over them. Add a layer of meat and cover with the remaining spaghetti.
  5. Pour the milk-and-egg mixture over everything and sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C (350°F) until the cheese melts and turns golden, then serve.

Tip: Break up the meat with a wooden spoon as it cooks so no large lumps remain. Pour the milk-and-egg mixture slowly over the entire surface so it runs between the spaghetti strands to the bottom of the dish.
