Chicken patties with cheese are more tender than pork patties: ground chicken is mixed with grated cheese, egg, garlic, and parsley, then coated in breadcrumbs and pan-fried until golden. The cheese keeps them juicy, so they taste good cold, too. Serve them with mashed potatoes, salad, or in a roll.

Instructions

Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.

  1. Prepare the chicken mixture

    15 min

Pour the milk over the breadcrumbs for the chicken mixture and let soak for 5 minutes. Finely grate the onion and press the garlic. In a bowl, combine the chicken, egg, soaked breadcrumbs, cheese, onion, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.

  2. Shape the patties

    5 min

With damp hands, shape the mixture into 12 flat patties and coat them in breadcrumbs.

  3. Pan-fry the patties

    20 min

Heat the oil in a skillet and fry the patties over medium heat for 4–5 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through. Let drain on a paper towel.

  4. Serve

Serve warm with mashed potatoes or potato salad. The patties also make a good snack served cold.

Tip: The chicken patties must be cooked through—cut one open to check that the meat inside is white and the juices are not pink.
