These savory yeast dough triangles are filled with a bold garlic spread made with Hera baking margarine and egg yolks. The dough is divided into five portions, each spread with filling and rolled up like a strudel. Before baking, the rolls are brushed with egg yolk, sprinkled with caraway seeds or cheese, and snipped into triangles with scissors. They bake for 30 to 35 minutes at 180 °C (350 °F), and since they disappear quickly, it is worth making a double batch.

Instructions

Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.

  1. Make the dough in a bread machine using the Prep or Dough setting, or knead it by hand, and let rise for 1 hour. Meanwhile, prepare the filling: mix the Hera baking margarine with the garlic and egg yolks and season with salt.
  2. Divide the risen dough into 5 portions. Roll out each portion, spread with the filling, and roll up like a strudel. Transfer the rolls to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a baking mat. Brush thoroughly with egg yolk and sprinkle with caraway seeds or cheese to taste.
  3. Use scissors or a pastry wheel to cut triangles into each roll, cutting only through the top layer of dough. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 °C (350 °F) for approximately 30–35 minutes. Separate the baked triangles using a table knife, for example.

Tip: Take the Hera baking margarine out of the refrigerator ahead of time to soften so it blends smoothly with the garlic and egg yolks. Use the leftover egg whites in scrambled eggs, for example.
