Instructions
Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.
- Use one roasting pan to layer and bake all the ingredients. Peel the potatoes and cut them into slices. Grease the pan with oil, line the bottom with half the potatoes, and season with salt and pepper.
- Slice the onion and spread it evenly over the potatoes. Arrange the pork on top. If desired, add another layer of onions, bacon, and garlic. If you have marinated the pork, add the marinade as well.
- Arrange the remaining potatoes on top as the final layer.
- Cover the pan with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (350 °F) for about 1 hour. Meanwhile, mix the sour cream with salt, pepper, dill, and any additional herbs to taste in a bowl. Remove the foil, arrange the tomatoes on top, and pour the sour cream sauce over everything.
- Return the pan to the oven for a few minutes and bake until golden brown.
Tip: Cut the pork into slices no thicker than 1 cm and pound them lightly so they become tender along with the potatoes during the hour under foil, rather than staying tough.
