These rose-shaped quark and semolina cakes are a simple dessert to serve with coffee or tea, made with just a few basic ingredients. Blend the quark, a fresh cheese similar to farmer's cheese, with sugar and vanilla, then add an egg and butter. Finally, add the semolina, which first needs to soak for 15 minutes with sour cream and baking powder. Divide the batter among the molds and bake for 30 minutes at 180°C (350°F).
A special pan gives the cakes their rose shape, but you can use any pan you have at home.

Blend the quark thoroughly with the sugar and vanilla, then add the egg and butter. In another bowl, mix the semolina with the sour cream and baking powder and let stand for 15 minutes.
Combine the two mixtures and pour into a baking pan. Use any pan you like; a rose-shaped pan is used here.
Choose whatever pan shape you like. Bake for 30 minutes at 180°C (350°F).
Tip: Use a brush to grease every crevice of an intricately shaped pan, then dust it with semolina; otherwise, the rose petals may break off when unmolding. Unmold the cakes while lukewarm.
