Baked macaroni with chicken and tomato sauce is a hearty oven-baked dish that brings together pasta, meat, and cheese. The chicken is sautéed with onion and paprika, simmered with tomato paste, sprinkled with flour, and finished with sour cream. The cooked macaroni is mixed with beaten eggs and breadcrumbs, combined with the chicken sauce, and topped with grated cheese in a baking dish. This meal for four is ready in about 50 minutes, with most of that time spent baking at 180°C (350°F).

Instructions
Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.
- Cook the macaroni in salted water. Sauté the onion, paprika, and chicken in oil. Add the tomato paste or tomato juice and simmer until the chicken is tender.
- Sprinkle with the flour, mix thoroughly, pour in the sour cream, and stir again. Add the beaten eggs and breadcrumbs to the cooked macaroni and mix.
- Combine the chicken mixture with the macaroni and transfer to a baking dish.
- Sprinkle with the cheese, add slices of butter on top to taste, and bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 40 minutes.
Tip: Stir about a third of the cheese into the macaroni and chicken sauce, and sprinkle the rest on top. The casserole will be cheesy inside too and will hold together better when sliced.
