Mixing crepe batter in a bottle is a practical way to save time and cut down on dishes. Pour the milk and eggs through a funnel into a clean 1.5 l bottle, shake, then gradually add the sugar, all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and oil. Simply cap the bottle and shake well after each addition.

Pour the batter straight from the bottle into a hot pan. With a nozzle attachment, you can pour a thin stream to draw hearts and other shapes. If you have leftover batter, store it in the bottle in the refrigerator.

Instructions

Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.

  1. Thoroughly wash a 1.5 l bottle. Using a funnel, pour in half the room-temperature milk and the eggs. Remove the funnel, cap the bottle, and shake vigorously to combine.

  2. Pour the remaining milk into the bottle and add the sugar. Add the remaining dry ingredients—the flour, baking soda, and salt—in batches. Cap the bottle and shake well, then add the oil and shake thoroughly again.

  3. Preheat a skillet and pour the batter into it straight from the bottle or through a special nozzle attachment, which is optional. Pour in a thin stream to make crepes in different shapes, such as hearts.

Tip: After pouring in the milk and eggs, rinse the funnel and dry it thoroughly—flour will clump and clog a damp funnel. If you don't have a second funnel, use a paper cone for the dry ingredients.
