These homemade chicken burgers feature ground chicken patties seasoned with garlic, sweet paprika, and mustard, pan-fried and served on buns with lettuce, tomato, and red onion. Chicken must be cooked through, so the patties are thinner than beef burger patties.

Instructions
Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.
Make the patties
10 minMix the ground chicken with the pressed garlic, paprika, mustard, breadcrumbs, and salt. With damp hands, shape into 4 patties about 1.5 cm thick and slightly wider than the buns.
Cook the patties
12 minHeat the oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 5–6 minutes per side, until cooked through and no pink juices run out when pierced.
Prepare the vegetables
5 minSlice the tomatoes and cut the onion into thin rings. Mix the mayonnaise with the ketchup. Split the buns and briefly toast them in a dry skillet.
Assemble the burgers
Spread sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Layer with lettuce, a patty, tomato, and onion, then cover with the top half.
Tip: Press your thumb into the center of each patty to make an indentation so it won't puff up into a ball as it cooks and will cook evenly.
