One-egg walnut cake is a quick cake where all you need to do is mix the ingredients in one bowl and pour the batter into a pan. Besides the egg, you need milk, oil, flour, and ground walnuts, and preparation takes about five minutes. It bakes for 30 minutes at 180 °C (350 °F) in a 24 × 28 cm (about 9½ × 11 inch) pan. Spread the baked cake with cream whipped with sugar and sprinkle it with walnuts.

Instructions

Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.

  1. For measuring, use a glass or cup that holds about 250 ml. Crack the egg into a bowl, pour in the milk and oil, and mix. Then add the powdered sugar, vanilla sugar, flour, baking powder, and ground walnuts and mix everything together again.

  2. Pour the batter into a 24 × 28 cm (about 9½ × 11 inch) pan lined with parchment paper. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 °C (350 °F) for about 30 minutes.

  3. Whip the cream with the powdered sugar and spread the whipped cream over the baked cake. Finally, sprinkle it with ground walnuts.

Tip: Measure the milk and the flour with the same glass so the proportions in the batter are right. Spread the whipped cream on the cake only once it has cooled completely; on a warm cake it would run.
