These savory yeast-dough pizza rolls have a pizza-style filling of ham, bacon, smoked and plain cheese, onion, and corn. Spread the rolled-out dough with sour cream mixed with garlic and thyme, add the chopped filling ingredients, and roll it up. One batch makes two rolls, which bake for 30 minutes at 180 °C (350 °F). Serve them warm for dinner or cold when entertaining guests.

Whisk 1 egg into 100 ml of the milk, add the yeast, and let stand for 10 minutes. Then stir in the sugar and salt. Add this yeast-and-egg mixture and the oil to the flour and knead thoroughly, adding more flour or the remaining milk as needed. Cover the dough and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
Divide the dough into two equal portions and roll out each one. Mix the sour cream with the garlic and thyme, then spread it over both pieces of dough. Chop the remaining filling ingredients and distribute them over the dough.
Roll up both pieces of dough into logs and transfer them to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush with the beaten egg and bake at 180 °C (350 °F) for 30 minutes. Serve warm or cold.
Tip: Dice the ham, cheeses, and bacon finely; large pieces could tear the thin dough as you roll it up and leave gaps in the slices.
