These baked cheesy mashed potato spirals are a side dish with a crisp outside and a soft center. Mix cooked potatoes with milk, butter, and grated cheese, let cool briefly, then stir in eggs, salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg. Slowly pour the creamy mixture from a wide spoon into a hot skillet in a spiral shape. Serve with meat or as a party snack.

Instructions
Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.
Peel and dice the potatoes, then boil them in salted water until tender. Drain the potatoes and bring the milk to a boil. Add the butter and grated cheese to the potatoes and let the mixture cool briefly before mixing in the eggs and seasonings.
Pour in a little milk and stir until the mixture forms creamy mashed potatoes. Add the milk gradually.
Scoop up the mashed potato mixture with a wide spoon and slowly pour it into a hot skillet in a spiral shape.
Make sure the skillet is thoroughly heated so the spiral browns properly. Cook on both sides and sprinkle with salt while still warm.
Tip: Flip each spiral with a wide spatula only once the underside has set and releases on its own. A thin coating of butter is enough to grease the skillet.
