Yogurt flatbreads with ham and cheese are stuffed flatbreads made with a no-yeast dough of plain yogurt, all-purpose flour, and baking soda. The dough is divided into four to six balls, rolled out thin, filled with ham or cheese, and folded inward at the edges. The flatbreads are fried in oil until golden, and the whole process takes about 20 minutes. For a sweet version, you can also fill them with Nutella.

Instructions

Tip: tap a step to mark it as done.

  1. Mix the yogurt with the salt, sugar, and baking soda. Gradually add the flour and work into a smooth dough.

  2. Divide the dough into 4–6 pieces and shape each into a ball. Roll each ball into a thin flatbread about 2–3 mm thick, then place a slice of ham or spread some cheese in the center. Fold the edges over the filling to cover it completely.

  3. Heat the oil in a skillet and fry the flatbreads on both sides until golden brown.

Tip: After folding in the edges, gently roll the flatbreads again with a rolling pin to seal the seams and keep the filling from leaking out during frying. Roll out the sticky dough on a floured surface.
